As winter wanes, I am running out of fresh tea blends to enjoy. Attempting to avoid eating dessert with everyone each night (even though it’s nourishing, it does have some sucanat in it usually), I wanted a hot drink that was a treat. With a background of chocolate, hint of spice, and depth of roobios, this is my new favorite after meal drink.
I use loose leaf tea and usually use approximates in regards to ratios, not actual measuring devices. Here’s the gist of it:
Red Cocoa Chai Tea (loose leaf blend)
Add each ingredient one at a time to a quart jar:
- 2 parts Red Roobios Tea
- 2 parts Cacao Nibs
- 1/2 part cloves
- 1/2 part allspice
- 1/2 part dried ginger
- 1/4 part spearmint
- 1/4 part organic orange peels
- 1/4 part cinnamon chips
Cap jar, shake until mixed. Add 1-2 tsp per cup of water. Best if steeped for 5-7 minutes. Add raw honey and enjoy!
